2007 Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop

Creating and Sustaining Passionate Teaching and Learning

The 19th Annual Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop was held at Whitney Young High School on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Robert L. Fried, Associate Professor of Education at Northeastern University, challenges the high stakes testing model so engrained in the American system of education and reinforced by the No Child Left Behind Act requirements. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed books The Passionate Teacher: A Practical Guide  and The Passionate Learner: How Teachers and Parents Can Help Children Reclaim the Joy of Discovery.
