Interested in serving as our 26th - and final! - Study Group Liaison?

Each Liaison is asked to attend one group meeting, visit the classroom of one Team Member in the fall, and ultimately complete a Study Group Liaison Program evaluation.  Study Group Liaisons play a crucial role in the Study Group Grant Program, as they help cultivate the ever-important relationship between Study Group participants and CFE.  The groups left to be assigned are:

1) "Differentiated Instruction in the Special Education Classroom" -- Special Education; Grades K-8

CFE programs recognize the accomplishments of Chicago's most outstanding teachers and engage the private sector through varied and flexible volunteer opportunities.  Each year, more than 200 volunteers provide indispensable support for CFE programs by reviewing and evaluating teacher grants, coordinating our annual Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop, visiting grant-winning classrooms, and promoting our programs throughout CPS schools.  Chicago Foundation for Education's dedicated volunteers see first-hand the positive impact our programs have on Chicago public elementary students and teachers across the city.

CFE volunteer opportunities are flexible and can be shaped around individual interests, skills, and schedules. CFE’s programs operate in a variety of locations, including public schools throughout the city, our main office in the historic Wrigley Building, and homes in various suburbs. We enthusiastically thank all of our volunteers for any amount of time they are able to give, whether it is a few hours, a lunch break, or a more extensive, regular commitment.  CFE volunteer opportunities include:

  • Visiting grant-winning classrooms
  • Reviewing teacher grant applications
  • Promoting CFE programs throughout Chicago's public schools
  • Helping with various office projects
  • Assisting with our Teachers as Leaders and Learners Workshop in the fall
